For Once I Agree With President Trump

I agree and, as always seems to happen, this kind of crime always brings out the best in many. It shows that terrorism of any stripe will fail as it only serves to remind us all that we are all one family and we will damn sure stand as family. This is not a political issue - it's a family matter.
A horrible tragedy. But as horrible and brutal as this is, I don't believe that genocide is the answer to solving the problem of the fundamental religionist fanatics who perpetrate these massacres. The Swamp People are calling for the annihilation of all Muslims.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. Would they have called for the annihilation of all white Christians as a punishment for the thousands and thousands of murders of our Native Americans and African Americans? As one of my commenters pointed out, it took our country more than 100 years to rid itself of our own domestic terrorists (but we still produce them). Why do the Swamp People expect to rid the world of terrorists in a generation?
They are naive and IMO mentally imbalanced if they believe killing 1.3 billion Muslims is the answer to fundamental fanatical religionists.

DeleteThe vast majority of the victims of jihadist terrorism have been Middle Eastern people, largely Muslims. The ground forces which have been pushing back Dâ'ish (ISIL) and defeating it are mostly Arabs and Kurds supported by Iran. Whether as victims or opponents, the West is actually only peripherally involved. It's not a war between Islam and the West. It's a civil war within (some parts of) the Middle East which sometimes spills over into the West.
The "swamp people" are bloodthirsty idiots who know nothing about the world beyond their trailer parks and fake news.
Agreed. Yesterday, the Pope must've been disgusted to have a face to face with our Bilious Bronze Blowhard. The Pope is an obvious man of peace and honestly believes in his faith - Trump clearly only believes in enriching himself and his family at all costs.
ReplyDeleteStill, I do agree with him that these extremists - like ALL extremists of all stripes - are losers who have so little faith in their own ideologies that they need to lash out at anyone who doesn't believe exactly as do they. There's a LOT of that in the world and it comes from more than just Islam.
Off topic - FINALLY got my scan results back and -- PHEW -- I'm still clear. Yeah. I'll have my fingers crossed that you get the same good news in July!!!!
