My Renewed Pledge to RESIST
Don't ever let the right get away with their lies. Call them on them each and every time. We know that facts are the enemy of the right. They seriously hate facts and like to make up their own 'alternate facts'. Without those 'alternative facts', this mango Mussolini infesting the White House would not be able to get by with his near-constant lies. Sadly, the right has been so dumbed down by the right wing bubble they survive in, they just no longer are capable of knowing what is real and what isn't. They've become the senile old aunt sitting in the living room on Thanksgiving day telling everyone the same 5 ancient stories over and over again about relatives nobody ever met because they died long before anyone in the room was even born.
We're keeping the lid on this lying loon and his crew of criminal idiots and science deniers. Let's not let up the pressure. EVER. The future for our nation and our children is at stake.

ReplyDeleteMy way of resisting is to continue to blog about Lord Dampnut's lies, deceptions, and policy bait-switching. There aren't enough days in the week to keep up with all that this maniac does.
The latest is the disastrous interview he gave the AP. One of my commenters, Kevin Robbins, linked to Charlie Pierce's article in Esquire. It is horrifying. Trump is a functioning illiterate and most likely he has some dementia problems. He'll something in one moment, then he'll say the complete opposite the next. Or he's completely inarticulate, using speech patterns and the vocabulary of a 4th grader.
I volunteer and teach ESOL to immigrants whose rudimentary English is far more sophisticated than Trump's.

DeleteThe wingnuts have been marinating their brains in "alternative facts" for a long time. The Earth is 6,000 years old. We're all cursed because long ago a talking snake persuaded a woman made from a rib to eat fruit from a magic tree. There is an all-powerful superbeing who created the whole universe but gets intolerably offended if somebody's gay. And it's outrageously wrong and unacceptable and simply-not-done for anyone to challenge those beliefs in any way, much less disrespect or ridicule them.

So they accept that global warming is a hoax and the world's climate scientists are lying. Ultimately they accept anything that Drudge or Alex Jones or Trump say, because it has the right emotional resonances.
Conflicting evidence? The stuff in the first paragraph has already trained them to ignore evidence.
We have to keep asserting reality. Don't let their delusions spread beyond their own fever swamp.
As for your trolls, substance-free insults and profanity are just the internet equivalent of toddler tantrums. If they had anything of substance to say, they'd say it.
